한강포럼에서 주관하는 몽골탐방단의 일원으로 승선을 하면서 평소 한번 가고 싶어했던 <BR>몽골의 대 초 원을 돌아볼 수 있는 기회를 가지게 되었다.<BR>2006년 5월 4일부터 9일까지 5박 6일간 한몽교류진흥 협회의 협조 하에 <BR>한강포럼 몽골탐방단 17명이 한때 세계 역사상 가장 강대하고 거대한 제국을 건설 했던 <BR>칭기스칸(Chinggiskhan)의 후예들이 모여 살고 있는 나라, 몽골을 탐방하기 위하여 장도에 <BR>오른 것이다. <BR><BR>
<P>인천국제공항에서 3시간 30분을 비행하니 몽골의 수도 울란바타르(Ulaanbaatar)에 있는 <BR>칭기스칸공항 에 도착한다는 기내 방송이 나온다. <BR>시계를 맞추기 위하여 현지시간이 어떻게 되느냐고 스튜어디스에게 물으니 <BR>몽골은 한국과 같은 시간대이기 때문에 시간을 조정할 필요가 없다고 한다. <BR>이 말 을 들으면서 생각보다 몽골이 가까운 나라라는 것을 직감적으로 느끼게 한다. <BR>
<P>칭기스칸공항에 내리니 사람들의 외모나 얼굴모양이 전혀 이국적인 느낌을 주지 않고 <BR>한국의 어느 국 내공항에 내린 것 같은 기분이 든다. <BR>가까운 일본이나 중국만 하더라도 느낌이 다르게 다가오는 데 몽골사람들은 가까운 <BR>친척을 만난 것 같은 친근감과 동질성을 느끼게 한다. <BR>몽골반점을 공유 하고 있다는 사실 때문인지 몰라도 몽골사람들도 우리를 보는 느낌이 <BR>이국적이지 않다고 하면서 소박 하고 친절하며 따뜻한 정을 우리들에게 보여준다. <BR><BR>몽골사람들로부터 칭기스칸에 대한 긍지와 자부심이 대단한 것을 첫눈에 느끼게 된다. <BR>칭기스칸 이 나라를 세운 1206년을 원년으로 하여 건국 800주년 기념행사가 <BR>몽골 곳곳에서 열리고 있으며, 공항청사 벽에는 칭기스칸 시대 즉 원나라 황제들의<BR>대형 초상화가 걸려있고 호텔, 술, 도로, 건물 등 에도 칭기스칸이라는 명칭을 쓰고 있다.<BR><BR>13세기 초 몽골 초원에서 흩어져 살던 부족들을 통합시 킨 칭기스칸이 중국을 점령하여 <BR>원(元)나라를 세운 후 동쪽으로는 한반도, 서쪽으로는 헝거리까지 인 류역사상 가장 <BR>거대한 제국을 건설하여 세계를 주름잡았던 향수와 긍지감을 몽골인들은 잊지 못하고 <BR>있는 것이다. <BR></P>

<P>공항에서 호텔로 가는 버스 안에서 전에는 몽고라고 하였는데 요즈음은 왜 몽골이라고 <BR>부르는가를 물 어보았다. 가이드가 대답하기를 중국에서는 몽고라고 하고, 서구에서는 <BR>Mongolia라고 하지만 몽 골어로는 몽골(Mongol)이라고 발음하기 때문에 원음을 그대로 <BR>호칭하는 원칙에 따라 몽골이라고 부른 다고 한다. <BR>중국에서 부르는 몽고(蒙古)라고 하는 것은 몽매하고 후진성을 벗어나지 못한 종족이라는<BR>뜻으로 오래 동안 몽골족의 침략에 시달려온 중국인들이 몽골을 낮춰 부르기 위해 사용<BR>한대서 비롯됐기 때문에 몽고라고 부르는 것을 몽골사람들은 대단히 싫어한다고 한다. <BR></P>

<P>우리협회 협력기관인 건양의대 김안과병원( 원장 김성주)에서 기증한 안과의료장비<BR>iometry 등 3종 3set) 를 2006. 9. 29일 KOMEX 몽골지부장(김여수 사장) 및 병원관계자들이<BR>참석한 가운데 오르비타 안과병원( 원장 산자)에서 전달식을 가졌으며 병원장의 감사말씀<BR>과 몽골내 타병원과 협의하여 재몽 한인(약 3,000여명)에 대한 양질의 의료혜택 가능성 <BR>제안과 한국의 김안과 외 타병원의 지원협력를 요청하였습니다.</P>
